Does the Helium Weather XM not update its data as often as the WiFi version and could that be why the WiFi version goes through more batteries?

Did anyone try to hardwire the WeatherXm station, i.e. to feed power into the unit and avoid the issue with batteries? I have a couple of D1 WB1200 units and have regular battery issues for some reason.

South Texas heat. Installed in late October only lasted 6-7 months before I got the low battery alarm. I kept operating for about a month. Runs on daylight and alert is only at night. I didn’t see any performance issues with low batteries at night. Switched to Duracell but I expected a much longer time life with solar power during the day. WS2001 helium. And Yes, it is high up and hard to get to even with the battery extender. I checked and all the batteries were completely depleted.

Wound up putting in a set of lithium AA after the first low battery notification at -30F and haven’t had an issue in 8 months.

I put some energizer batteries in the wifi version, It’s been about 1.5 year without needing to change them yet. In Canada so it gets hot and cold.

@JD I live in the Philippines and all they have if carbon batteries. I had to order energizer batteries from Amazon and have them shipped. The carbon batteries will only work for about a month

Been about the same for me in India even in hot climate. Batteries last about 4-5 months.

Aethir Edge reward changes: June 12

Aethir made an annoucment that the 100ATH/day is coming to an end. We all knew this was coming.

This new change will start June 12, 2025 at 23:59 UTC.

Edge devices will receive approximately 21ATH/day. Depending on uptime and network activity. This will last for 1 month until the 2.0 tokenomics coming out.

July 13, will be the start of the 2.0 tokenomics. There is no exact breakdown of the rewards, but they say it will introduce a stake-based and tiered reward structure, that can earn UP TO 240ATH/day.



The rumors floating around are:

Tiers:

Bronze: Costs 2,000 ATH staked (90$). Gets you 10ATH/day (200 days estimated roi on the staking fee)

Silver: Costs: 5,000 ATH staked(225$). Gets you 30ATH/day + bonuses (166 days estimated roi on the staking fee)

Gold: Costs: 10,000 ATH staked(450$). Gets you 60ATH/day + bonuses (166 days estimated roi on the staking fee)

In a perfect world
You earn UP TO 240ATH/day if you are Gold tier.

You earn UP TO 120ATH/day if you are Silver tier.



We should wait for the official docs to come out. But, would you guys stake more tokens?
